although they are not as powerful as Shakespeare’s cusses they are quiet effective and don’t offend people in a horrible way they are just “banter ”

This is a very important point. Frequently there are high levels of sophisticated humour as well as deep linguistic features in banter.
Have a look at your own banter and the insults in Shakespeare and see if you can find any similarities in style, sound, content and topic.
